Occupational Therapy (OT)

Occupational Therapists at STARS treat individuals from birth through adulthood. Occupational Therapy clients demonstrate fine motor, sensory or daily living delays or impairments. Occupational Therapy services improve upon skills necessary for play and academics including cutting, writing, and "working" toys. Occupational Therapists work with clients and families of individuals who have Autism or other disorders that affect their sensory system by providing therapy that gives sensory input and increases the client's ability to cope with input that they resist (i.e. loud noises) as well as making recommendations for improvement at home or in school. Occupational Therapists work with individuals who were born with or acquired conditions that require changes to their daily living skills including dressing, using the washroom, and cooking.
